Terrible's Lakeside Casino - Osceola, Iowa

I will start off
with I didn't get to meet T but....... I did get to meet 2
VIP's which was a great pleasure for all of us. Mr. Bob & Mr.
Dorin. As soon as I spotted & met them it was like meeting
up with 2 old friends. Hope to meet up with them again.
You all know I had
a few hurdles to cross before actually getting to Osceola
Iowa. First of many was my husband Rick was unable to get
the time off, then I broke my arm. I ended up having 6
tickets to the concert and nobody to go with me. I couldn't
even give them away which was very sad to me. I had at one
point decided not to go. A day or 2 before the concert I had
all the tickets at home. My youngest daughter Kayla (18)
which was unable to attend due to her age, decided to ride
down with me. My oldest daughter Mindy (27) finally got the
days off so that made me happy, I gave 2 tickets away at a
40th anniversary party last, but not least, to a friend of a
friend - Cora. WHEW! We started out in my jeep - my two
daughters, Cora & myself. The other 2, Carolyn &
Sylvia, we would meet in Osceola. July 3rd 10:30am things
started out O.K for a short time. Kayla & I picked
Mindy up. She informed us she had a couple stops to make
which I wasn't happy about but I
just went with the flow. On
our way -- WRONG! Kayla then informed us she forgot her
laptop in the middle of Mindy's driveway so away we go back
to Mindy's to retrieve the laptop so were on the road again.
We make Mindy's stops and I smell oil -- I figured they got
oil on the engine when they changed it the day before. So we
drive on to get Cora. I hear GURGLEING so we pull into
Hy-vee parking lot pop the hood sure enough she's
overheating like a bandit. My husband is in Baltic which is
about 30 miles away. We are now about an 1 1/2 hrs behind
schedule of a 6 hr drive -- there would be no way to make it
in time and it would be pointless for the people I gave the
6pm tickets to go because they wouldn't get to see
Tanya. I myself was unable to make the calls to them. I
wasn't able to keep my composure (if ya know what I mean) at
this point I had decided myself not to go. I was beginning
to think I wasn't suppose to go to this concert for some
reason -- it was doomed from the beginning. Everytime
I jumped a hurdle another was waiting down the way. Mindy
took control of the situation, called a friend that
was nice
enough to come get her take her home and get her Van which
was approx 30 miles round trip. The troops arrived
everything got switched from my jeep to Mindy's Town &
Country calls were made AGAIN to tell everyone the show was
on again. Oddly enough the other 2 gals, Carolyn & Sylvia,
never turned around they figured they were this far they
would go and do some gamblin. I myself was not yet in the
mood to go but I went because everyone went to so much
trouble to make sure I could go and see Tanya. So we are on
the road. Osceola bound -- thats right, finally we are on
the road. We were cutting it close, I mean really close but
I told em Tanya always runs on Tucker time so we had at
least 45 min to spare. Did I say 45 min to spare? Right we
got there at 5:30pm 1st show 6pm no showers. change of
clothes & NO MAKEUP!!!! parked got to our seats right at
6pm and guess who was coming on stage ON TIME ... Miss T
herself struttin to "Some Kind Of Trouble". Looked gorgeous
in a black fitting outfit she joked later in the show as she
sat down for a medley how the outfit streched and she loved
stretchy material. Miss T was right on the money both shows
-- yes on time (they must have told T the shows were at 5 &
7pm LOL ) I stayed for both shows both were good although I
thought the 2nd show was better than the first (minus the
drunks behind us). They would yell "Hey Tanya sing
something good." As Tanya sang Delta Dawn her back up singer
behind us stood up BELLERING out Delta Dawn. Classy Miss T,
without missin a beat, said have a seat and down went her
back up singer LOL. After the first show is when I met Bob &
Dorin. I walk to the front looked to my right and like a
beacon in the
dark there sat Bob -- shortly after Dorin
showed up. Bob was so funny definately a multi tasker we
would be talking but you could tell those wheels were a
turnin in his head -- how he could get a closer seat,
better photo's it was all about T as far as Bob was
concerned. Bob & Dorin were very polite and accommodating
thru it all. The concerts are done we all gather at T's bus
in front of the casino. Cora (one of the gals we were
with) was lucky enough after the first concert to follow T
with security to her bus. Cora yelled great job Tanya -- T
looked back and smiled. T's in her bus no meet and greet
only for the casino high roller's. We never seen her leave
her bus believe you me if she left that bus Bob & Dorin would
have seen her. We met her personal assistant Jody, her dog &
the drummer Jack. I cannot remember the name of the
dog she was sweet tho. T & Presley signed a parking sign for
me & Mindy's shirt thanks to Cora. Jody kept things movin taking
stuff in the bus for T to sign. She also signed Bob's album
and Bob was sweet and gave her a picture he made for her. I
don't know if Dorin had her sign anything I kept an eye on
Bob & Dorin's things at one point. I think next time they
need to bring themselves a mule -- holy crap them camera
bags were heavy. I'm surprised they both don't have hernia's
LOL.I'm kiddin you guys. Truly I don't know how they carry
those bags. I tell ya they came prepared for anything. Cora
had T and a whole slew of
people sign her purse which she
said she was gonna retire it after that night. Jody asked if
there was anything else we wanted signed I tried to walk
with her told her me she wasn't havin' it LOL. No new member
to the tattoo club this time NOT!!!! Dorin retired early Bob
joined us in the Casino for a short time. Cora was on a
mission she was gonna talk to anybody she thought knew
anything about T. It paid off -- she like Dorin got
to meet Presley. That's when she had Presley sign my parking
sign which was so nice. I never gambled before. I won 60.50
on .25 cents I quit after that. Oh yeah when Mindy and Kayla
checked in the motel after dropping us off at the casino at
6 they had no rooms for us they said they had been
cancelled. So in between concerts I was trying to figure out
where we were gonna stay which turned out O.K. Everyone had
a great time. We didn't take as many photo's of everyone as
I would have liked maybe next time. As for T she looked
absolutely gorgeous as always. We got some really good
photo's as I'm sure Bob did as well. As for the tunes
nothing new. She talked about her Dad, G.J. her Ex. &
Tuckertime will be coming soon. I think she did an excellent
job on the Beatles song "Something". Everything we
went thru T was worth waiting for as I'm sure y'all know.
Kayla enjoyed her stay at the motel -- she did a couple
treks to Walmart across the way. She brought her laptop to
occupy her. I'm sure she would have rather been with us. Next
time we'll just sneak her in they didn't even check ID's.
When we got back to the motel around 2:00 am Kayla was
snoozin but have no fear she got to hear all about it 2 or 3
times over and couple times in the morning and all the way
home except when she was playin possum so we would quit
talkin about it LOL. It was better than being at the
concert play by play Aaaaaaall the waaaaay home! The trip
home I'm happy to report was uneventful & I am again a happy
girl.
