Wow!!!!
What a fabulous show!!! Since I had seen the show a week earlier in Vinton, La.
I kinda knew what to expect. But Wow...it was so much better seeing it at the
Wildhorse in Nashville!!!!!! There was more energy and enthusiasm in the
audience as well as on stage. Perhaps because Tanya and her family live there
and more people knew her...but for whatever reason....I could NOT believe how
much better the show was than the week earlier!!! And remember, the week earlier
I said it was the best concert I had ever seen her perform....so you KNOW it was
TOTALLY AWESOME to beat that!!!!
Aside from her flawless performance, Cali, Presley and Laylas' dynamic
performances and how well they all four performed together, meeting up with
other fans from TTUTTFS like Mark, Natalie, Linda, Bobbi, Lisa, Fl. Dee, Casey
and some others, it made for an evening I'll always cherish!!!
The Imperials and Tanya's band, especially Jack and Porter, were totally
magnificent!!!! If it were up to me, I'd vote for Tanya and the Imperials to
keep on touring together!!!! What a great fit...Tanya Tucker, Cali, Presley,
Layla. Tanya's band AND The Imperials!!! Folks, it don't get any better!!!!
It was great to meet Zach, LaCosta's son, and LaCosta for the first time.
LaCosta has certainly
raised two great kids, very different, but each of them with loads of talent,
well mannered, and genuinely great kids!!! Tanya and LaCosta should both be very
proud of the wonderful children they've raised!!!!
It was great to meet up with some of the folks I met at Tanya's birthday party
at Tootsie's last October! Laura Lacey, Nancy, James Prince from "Sweet Tea
Records", and of course Jack and Porter!!!!
However, one person, who is extremely talented and I couldn't remember his name
from Tanya's birthday party, I'd like to give "kudos" to here, is "TY"..who owns
"A Village of Flowers" in Nashville. He is one handsome, talented and genuinely
nice guy!!!! He made the two cakes for Tanya's birthday party at Tootsie's and
did the decorations at the Wildhorse for Tanya's Christmas show, and everyone
who was there know how totally awesome they were. The Trees, the stage
decorations and flowers, everything was magical!!! Excellent job Ty!!!! (every
time I rolled my wheelchair up front by the stage to take pictures. he was such
a gentleman and came and rolled me back to my table afterwards!!!)
Even tho' the show was without a doubt Tanya's best concert ever....and it was
so great to meet up with the other TTUTTFS fans and people from T's birthday
party....I have to say the highlight of the night for me was watching LaCosta's
reaction to Tanya presenting her with the 1965 baby blue
Mustang
convertible for her birthday. LaCosta was sitting at a table up close to the
stage, and when Tanya started talking about her family, talking to her Mom on
the cell phone from the stage and how much they all missed her Dad, then went
into how LaCosta had picked up where her Dad left off with the business end of
things and how much she appreciated everything LaCosta has done for her, then
matter of factly said she wanted to give her something "special" to show her
appreciation, and all of a sudden some guys took the cover off the '65 Mustang
that had been sitting right behind us all night and NOBODY had even noticed
it.....WOW!!!!! LaCosta turned around and saw that car that Zach, (her son) had
been guarding all evening, and the thrill and shock was pouring out of LaCosta!!!!
She was genuinely blown away!!! She couldn't even speak a word, she was crying,
her face was red, going over to see her car....reading the home made sign on it
that said "Happy Birthday LaCosta" from your sister"!!!! Then she opened the
door and sat in it and just cried tears of joy!!! I couldn't help but cry right
along with her!!!!
It was without any doubt, the BEST Tanya Concert EVER!!!! I know everyone that
was there thought so, and for those of you who couldn't make it....you missed
one HELL of a night!!!! But have no fear....between all of us that were there,
we got a couple hundred pictures ya'll!!!!
It was truly a "magical" evening!!!! One I'll never forget!!!!
Happy New Year everyone!!!
