Marianna (4 yrs old) finally met Tanya November, 2007 during the Careity Celebrity Cutting in Fort Worth, TX.
We got our chance to talk to Tanya in the arena right before the cutting began. When Tanya turned around Marianna said in amazement "It's Tanya". Normally, Marianna won't go anywhere near anyone she doesn't know, but she walked right up to Tanya. When T picked her up, Marianna was beaming from ear to ear. Seeing Tanya in person has made a lasting impression on Marianna - it's been two weeks since the cutting event and she is still talking about it.
Marianna
has been listening to Tanya's music since she was a 6 month old baby. At home
she watches Tanya's music videos as well as Tuckerville re-runs on tape.
She then practices singing TT's songs with her microphone and imitates all of
Tanya's moves.
When a Tanya song comes on the radio in the car, Marianna insists on complete silence until the song is over.
Tanya continues to be an influence and inspiration for Marianna. I can't thank Tanya enough for taking the time to genuinely care about her fans, especially the young ones who are looking for a role model -- watch out Tanya, more competition is on the way!

I
went to Opryland Hotel (March 2007) for the Tanya Concert for the Red Hat
Convention with a friend of mine and her roommate. We
got there around eight and immediately went and found the
convention hall, it was wide open to the public, the only thing roped
off was the actual ballroom. Tanya's merch booth was set up and Virginia
and Jim were there. Security was pretty tight, no chance of getting in
unless you were 50+ and swathed in purple and red.
We proceeded out to where the buses were parked and waited for about
thirty minutes before Tanya came walking out. She was really cheerful
and came right on up to us. One of the ladies we had met had a bunch
of
photos from 1979 (TNT tour), she gave them to Tanya. Tanya flipped
through them and began commenting on old band members and little
snippets of memories, she laughed a lot and seemed to be enjoying
herself. One of the ladies (there were 5 of us total) asked her to
sing a snippet of "Dancing The Night Away", so we huddled around as
Tanya burst into song in the middle of the parking lot. That was
fantastic.
Anyway, she posed for a couple photos and was very genuine and sweet
and funny. It was all very casual, not rushed at all. She gave us all
hugs then we thanked her and told her goodnight.
I'm really glad that I decided to go. I had no expectations at all, I
honestly didn't think I'd get to see her, but I didn't want to kick
myself for not going (since it was local). It ended up being an
incredible night. I've always loved Tanya, but I have even more love
and respect for her now.

It was 1980. I was 16. The record at the time was 'Tear Me Apart'. I lived in a
northern MN town called Gilbert. Tanya was going to be performing down in
Minneapolis. I bought Tickets for my family without asking permission. When the
tickets arrived I asked my mom if we could go. I was 16 and we were supposed to
go to Florida, but had to cancel due to gas prices. My mom agreed. She called
her friend in Minneapolis to make hotel reservations. The day came. April 14,
1980. We drove to downtown Minneapolis and got lost. Finally my mother found the
hotel's parking lot. It was behind the hotel. The Curtis Hotel was the place on
Hennepin Ave. My Mother's friend, Dottie, greeted us at our car and we unloaded.
I had my big suitcase and was walking with Dottie. We were about 2 blocks away
from the front door of the hotel. Dottie nudged me and said Bob, look at
her....Here was this vision wearing this short short purple outfit with big
yellow flowers. She also had on these yellow spiked catwoman type boots. I
immediately dropped my suitcase, opened it up, grabbed the TNT album, and went
running down the street screaming "It's Tanya Tucker!" I got in the lobby and
there was Tanya bigger than life. All I could do was stand there and stare. I
couldn't speak. My mother, grandmother, little sister and Dottie entered and my
mother was wondering what I was doing. When I pointed to her that Tanya was
right there, she did what every 16 year old boy hopes their mother never does.
She went up to Tanya and said "My son has loved you since he was in 2nd grade"
So much for my stud image...lol...Anyway, Tanya signed my album and was very
gracious. I learned she lost her purse and the hotel was looking for it. I
started searching too. I did not find it. Then I realized we were staying at the
same hotel as Tanya. Wow. When we left for the concert, we left the same time
she did and we followed her bus there. The concert rocked! I loved her rocking
tunes and 'Tear Me Apart' was my favorite song at the time. Very cool show. When
we left, I made my family wait until Tanya left, we followed her bus back. I
jumped out of the car when she hit the hotel and got
some pics with my kodak
tele-photo 110 pocket camera. I tried to figure out which floor she was on.
Couldn't do it as the elevator stopped many times. The next day when we were
leaving, so was Tanya. I got out my camera and took more pictures. Then Tanya
asked me if I would like my picture taken with her. All I could do was nod. She
put her arm around me. I melted. I couldn't say anything but thanks. She said
your welcome, loaded up on the bus and I watched it drive away. I remember it
like it was yesterday. I still get all tongue tied when I see her. She is the
best!

The first time I met
Tanya, I was 18 and she was 16. This was at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia
Calif.
Her band warmed the audience with a few Elvis songs and then, enter Miss T. The
first song was, what else. "Burnin' Love" She absolutely burned on this song.
Then a few tunes went by and then came, "I'm Not Lisa, my Name is Tanya" (Jessi
Colter tune). She came out into the audience and walked around and found
me...thank God, sat on my lap for a few lines and then took me to the stage to
help her back up. I was in total T-Ville at this point and didn't even know what
T-Ville was back then...LOL!
The meet and greet was cool but I think LaCosta was in a bad mood that evening.
I didn't see Costa after the first 5 minutes but Dad Beau was really cool. He
shook my hand and said, "Thanks for dropping by, please come back." I got a
kiss, (on the cheek...dammit) a hug from T and came back all six nights to see
if the show changed....(ya right). But ya'll know what? it changed every night.
Nothing in the same order and a few different ones through out the week.
"Spring" was my favorite back then and it was awesome. If anyone out there has
any favorite T moments, please share. This is why I'm a huge, Everything Tanya
fan to this day and I just turned the BIG 5-0 this month.
I will LOVE her true to the end and more.
Cummon fans...share your moment...Love to all T fans.....sincere and respect,
Michael
Casey M (FL) submitted by Casey's mom
Casey (FL) saw her first Tanya concert in 2002 at the Chili Cookoff Concert
in Miami, FL. Casey was and is a Fan Club member and got to meet Tanya
after the concert at the meet and greet. Casey has never before been
speechless (hasn't been since then either) and could not even tell
Tanya her
name - Tanya did manage to get Casey to nod her head. She couldn't believe
she was actually standing next to the one and only Miss T. Casey got home
from the concert and took all of her Britney Spears cds and gave them to her
brother. She gave her Britney poster to her dad and played her 'Tanya' cd
non stop for weeks.
Casey has gone to several Tanya concerts since then and has gotten over her speechless problem.
Casey went to Fan Fair in 2003 and caught a lot of the concerts at the Riverfront Park including Tanya's. After a full day of concerts and doing all the fan related stuff you can do at Fan Fair, Casey wrote Tanya a letter that night in her hotel room before falling asleep.
