Tanya Rocked the Little Opry
I attended the concert at the Little Opry House in
Nashville, IN yesterday.
It was a good concert, but I seem to take bad luck with
me. About 5 min before the auditorium doors were to be opened all the power
in the building and surrounding area went out. They had back up power for
the band and lights, but not the air conditioning. The concert was totally
sold out so there were a whole lot of people in there and it became very hot
very fast. I had a decent seat in row 11 right in front of the stage. I was
hot, but the performers were literally dripping wet under the lights.
I talked to the couple selling souvenirs before the
concert about Tuckerville. They said it is not looking good. Tanya says it
interferes too much with her touring. During the show Tanya said it is still
not settled.
The opening act was a male guitar player and singer and
a female singer. They were very good. I could not catch their names except
the girl was Tammy Sue ??. The boy joked some and was very good performer as
they sang duets. Then there was a break while Tanya's band set up and then 2
of the guitar singers sang solo's and they were good. Both of them were new.
The rest of the band was Jack on drums, Jerry and his girlfriend and on the
keyboard was a guy that was with T when I saw her in June. T introduced
Jerry as her ex and Layla's dad. She also introduced his girl friend. Tanya
said she is a lead singer in a group I cannot remember and that she helped
them out sometimes.
Finally Tanya came out and did a very good full concert,
despite the heat. At one point someone in the band spilled a glass of water
and she joked "just leave it there and I will soak it up". All of them were
using wet towels to try to beat the heat.
Tanya did about the same show as Billy Bob's except she
sang "Love Me Like You Used to" and "Oh What It Did To Me". Also someone
yelled from the crowd for "Spring". At first she said she did not think she
could do it as the band probably did not know it, but the keyboard player
said he did so she did a great job of singing it and the band joined in
once they heard the start. She joked some with the 2 new guys in the band,
especially the electric guitar up front on the stage. I think she was trying
to loosen him up some (or maybe flirting with him). Who knows with T!!
Anyway, I really enjoyed the concert. The only thing
better would have been Air Conditioning!!
I did not get very good pictures. The only close one I
took, T turned her head right as I snapped.
After the concert, I waited around for about an hour to
see if there would be a "Meet and greet" Nobody seemed to know and my
husband was getting impatient waiting for me, so I left. I would imagine
that T was so drained from performing in the heat that she just wanted to
cool down. I doubt she was coming out, but I do not know for sure.
