"Tanya Blows in on the Desert Wind"

WOW, talk about a beautiful night for a Tanya Concert! It was
an absolute picture perfect evening April 14th in Laughlin Nevada and the
BIG topper was of course, Tanya. Tanya's band got out there on the stage at
7:55 and did two songs and at 8:05 we were rockin'. T no more than hit the
stage and the crowd of 4000+ began to scream, in fact, it was so loud that
it was really hard to hear the first song out of the chute. Tanya
looked great -- I had to pick my face up off the floor after she
walked out on stage.
I was in the
center isle squatting next to some really cool young kids 20-25 they
appeared to be and they said I could stay as long as I liked but "Security
had to Ruin it", so I had to go back to my seat. I thought getting seats on
the floor was gonna be a good deal but we were in the back and this place
was huge. You all wouldn't of believed the size of this outside ampitheatre.
The stage was probably 200 ft. long and 150 deep and I gotta tell ya'll,
Tanya used every inch. There were so many songs I was hoping to hear from
the last two concerts I hadn't got to hear and I
certainly got my wish. She did "Window up Above", "Spring" a very short
acoustic version with her and Porter and I finally got to hear the "Amazing
Grace/Delta Dawn" thang and it was awesome. She did a lot of the others that
I love as well like, "Two Sparrows", "Lizzie and the Rainman", "San Antonio
Stroll", and all the other great songs from the past.
Then, out of NOWHERE, Tanya and the band breaks into a
version of Loretta's
song, "Your Good Girls Gonna Go Bad" and "Dont come home a Drinkin' (with
lovin' on your mind)". Then, Tanya does this impression of Loretta saying,
'Oh come on Doo, it's not the Bologna Sandwiches that makes me horny, its
you Doo." WOW!!! I LOVE Loretta but, I'd love to hear her do "Trouble"
sometime and see if she has the same effect on me, somehow, I don't think
so!
I got dared, and ya just don't wanna dare Michael because I
LOVE a challenge. Everyone we were hangin with in the back including one
lady security guard (GO FIGURE), said that if I wanted to run up the side
isle to get some quick shots that, "She didn't see a thang", so I did. I
have never hid behind so many people in my life and actually took shots
leanin' on their shoulders...very cool folks thank God! BTW, Tanya has
a lot of very dedicated fans and a few very very strange ones as well but I
hung with the cool ones. And just so ya'll know, I mentioned the TTUOTTFS to
most I was hiding behind taking pictures, and most knew what I was talking
about.....YEEE HAAAAA! Anyway, as you can see, the closest shot I got is
when I was standin' on one of the speakers in the front row but every time I
would get all lined up for a shot, one of the security guard were tuggin' at
my belt loop tellin' me I was blocking the view of others, so what ya see is
what ya get.
As
far as a Meet and Greet, I took Ala. Dee and Fl. Dee's advice and I hung
around and hung around and I hung around some more just to get a picture
with T. Well, instead of walking out the main gate where we entered, I
walked out the back gate because there were soooo many folks just hangin'
around outside the main gate. Since, I have been told that Tanya did her
Meet and Greet where Jim and Virginia sell's her merchandise (apparently,
this is rare for Tanya to do this) so I was just in the wrong place at the
WRONG time as usual. But all is GOOD, I got to see my all time favorite and
I have my Tanya T-Shirt, Boxers, and Ball Cap from CafePress to get signed
for the next BIG Tanya Experience. I left Friday the 13th for Laughlin and
my Tanya stuff came Saturday morning. There WILL be a NEXT time and I WILL
get all signed.
Much Love to all the Tanya fans, Michael
