Celebrity Cutting - Fort Worth, TX

Tanya and Marianna (4 yrs)

I traveled to the Careity Foundation Celebrity Cutting Event on November 30, 2007 with a friend and her two children.  Some of the riders in this year's celebrity cutting were Tanya, Sonny Burgess, Todd Fritsch, Betty Buckley, Bob Kingsley, Trent Willmon and Justin Frazell.  After the intro of the riders Tanya sang the National Anthem to kick off the event and did a magnificent job.

I babysit one of Tanya's biggest fans -- four year old Marianna.  At home, she gets her play microphone and sings along with Tanya's songs and loves watching "Tuckerville" tapes.

Right before the cutting started I took Marianna over to see if we could meet Tanya.  As we walked up, Tanya had her back to us so I called Tanya's name.  When Tanya turned around Marianna said in amazement "It's Tanya".  Normally, Marianna won't go anywhere near anyone she doesn't know, but she walked right up to Tanya.  When T picked her up, Marianna was beaming from ear to ear.  It's been two weeks since the cutting event and Marianna is still talking about meeting Tanya.

Shortly after returning to our seats, the cutting started.  Tanya is a great rider and did an awesome job of cutting -- as it turns out Tanya and her partner won the event.  The crowd loved her.

After her ride, commentator Linda Burch rode over to talk to Tanya.  Tanya told us that her luggage had been lost and she had to go across the street to buy what she was wearing.  Apparently this has been a bad year for Tanya's wardrobe -- her clothes keep getting lost! LOL

I was just ecstatic that Tanya won the event this year -- she made such a good ride.  I am already looking forward to the event for next year.
