The First Time I Met Tanya ...

It was 1980. I was 16. The record at the time was Tear Me Apart. I lived in a northern MN town called Gilbert. Tanya was going to be performing down in Minneapolis. I bought Tickets for my family without asking permission. When the tickets arrived I asked my mom if we could go. I was 16 and we were supposed to go to Florida, but had to cancel due to gas prices. My mom agreed. She called her friend in Minneapolis to make hotel reservations. The day came. April 14, 1980. We drove to downtown Minneapolis and got lost. Finally my mother found the hotel's parking lot. It was behind the hotel.
