My friend
Linda and I went to the TT concert at the Caesars Indiana last week (yes, Linda
and Linda). It was an absolutely gorgeous day to drive down there. We had
reserved a motel room in Corydon, IN. We got there just in time to check in and
go out for a good Chinese buffet meal. Then we changed and started out for the
casino. We had no trouble at all finding it, but it was a really weird drive
down. We drove about 8 or 10 miles along the river road with nothing at all
around us. You could see the huge plants across the river in Louisville, but
absolutely nothing on the IN side. Then all of a sudden you round a curve and
there are these humongous white structures in front of you. One was the building
with the theatre and shops, behind that was a hotel that went up 5 or 6 stories,
then there was a covered cat walk over to the river boat casino. All parking was
in huge concrete parking garages with valet service. We arrived about 5 min
before the doors open. Our timing was perfect and we had 3rd row center front
seats--awesome!!
The concert was on tucker time as it did not start until ½ hour late. In
the meantime Porter came out and sang a song of his (something about a truck
driver). Jack was there, Porter, another guitarist named Jimmy, a young chubby
guy on strings that could really rock that fiddle, and a guy on keyboard I did
not know. There was no female back up at all. When T finally came out she
commented that it looked like Porter was back but did not say where he had been.
She wore a black jacket and pants with a silver scooped necked short sleeve top
under it. It did not take her long to shed the jacket. I was kind of puzzled by
her behavior. She absolutely flirted with Porter all night and even called him
up and she sang a couple of his songs with him. One they got to laughing on
because she forgot the lyrics, but it was fun. Tanya was her usual feisty self
and put on a stellar show.
She
did all of her usual songs and added Window up above" and then talked about her
friend Tammy that had been gone fore 10 years so she sang "your good girl's
gonna go bad" in memory of Tammy. Boy, did she rock that song. Better then Tammy
ever did!!
The concert was wonderful. T had Presley come out and give her a hug and wave to
the crowd. Presley has gone pretty blonde, but looked very classy. I do not know
if Layla was there as nobody under 21 was allowed on the main floor as they had
bars outside the doors and were allowing drinks in the auditorium,so she may
have been in the balcony with someone.
Tanya said she has a new cd coming out in Aug that she is working on
with
Time-Life. I think she said she is singing hits made famous by other people.
She also mentioned her duet with George Jones. She did not mention the Lonesome
Town CD, but did say she had been busy looking at real estate. I took that to
mean she is buying property back in Nashville. I sure hope so.
My friend, Linda had never been to a Tanya concert before and could not believe
how much sex appeal T oozed. I told her that was just Tanya. She absolutely
loved the show and now another person hooked on T. She called me yesterday and
had gone to WalMart and bought 3 CD's. She also had me go on line to get her
some more, so I ordered her the New In Concert DVD, Billy Bob's DVD, Nickel
Dreams, and the "Tanya Album". I think she will love all of them.
This
was the best concert I have ever been to, except maybe the Christmas show,
because of the great seats we had. I loved it all and am ready to go again. I
know my friend is also. I think I have found a traveling partner. so you all
better watch out for the 2 grandma Lindas!!
